Sanna Annukka

Sanna Annukka’s Finnish designer who’s done projects for Marimekko, Keane and even some milk packaging.
Keane album cover

These milk cartons make me smile.

This is from her website: "Hello, my name is Sanna Annukka, I’m an illustrator and print maker with a love for nature and folklore... Another major influence is Finland’s national epic known as The Kalevala, a collection of folklore songs that are quite simply magical.”

THIS is genius.

negative space + corresponding beverage color = genius.Designer: Damjan Stanković.

mad x-acto skills.

I used to pride myself with having pretty solid x-acto skills.
Now I feel shame.

in the 510.

This makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.
I know these places, things and of these people.
Sort of feels like Oakland’s becoming our home.
Sort of.
On a side note, they repainted the giraffes.
They look great. I heart them.

yes, please.

I need another tote bag like I need another hole in my head, but...
It's so cute and for $24 it’s pretty easy to justify.
My new tote bag is available at little factory.

why didn’t some think of this sooner?

I’m not going to call this genius,
but it’s one of those things that would
make me smile if I saw one on some packaging.
And I’m genuinely surprised it took so long
for designers to have some fun with barcodes.

Pretty self explanatory.
I wish I remembered to look at it more often.
Like everyday.
Just think of the vast amounts of
really useful knowledge I'd have.

The new James Joyce is much better.

James Joyce is british designer/artist. Check out more of his work here.

while we’re on the subject...

I just saw these brilliant subway images from the 70s-80s. Sean Kernick from 24 flinching collected and posted them. Waxing poetic about New York...
...though these are nothing like the post Gulliani New York I knew.
