Saul Steinberg

Saul Steinberg is famous for this "1976 New Yorker cover, a map delineates not real space but the mental geography of Manhattanites," but he also did a bunch of other cool illustrations and mixed media stuff...

typey type

I'm sort of old school about type. I think you can do anything with a good group of maybe four or five solid typefaces. But I also think there is a time and place for fun stuff like these...check them out here. And please use them responsibly.
(I'm a jerk and don't remember where I saw this. Maybe boing boing?)

One to grow on...

Did you know that Philadelphia has more murals than any other US city.
I didn't either.
We both just learned something new.
Check out the mural arts program.
This is Steve Powers' piece.
I like it.

so cute my eyes are vomiting...

I have a crush on illustrator Celeste Potter.
Check her out.

And here's her band, OUCH! MY FACE!.
I love how angry she is. Again, freaking adorable...

cool office space...

...even if you freelance from home. Now I just need to talk the UPS guy into staying for a game or two. This little beauty's the work of tobias fraenzel.
