The Feltron Annual Report

Nicholas Feltron is a graphic designer based in New York City, and co-creator of the data-tracking website Daytum.com. He's created four Feltron Annual reports so far. They basically breakdown his year. And it looks very cool. You can see it here.

Cakeland

Cakeland, a sculptural installation, is a complete cake environment. Cakes are "wall mounted, hanging and standing-- a walk-through cake environment complete with its own lighting."

Artist, Scott Hove (a fellow Oaklander, Cakeland is on Shattuck & 55th or so), describes it as "a respite from the grinding realities of the outside world".

Sadly, they are not edible.

It seems the whole taxidermy craze may have hit it's tipping point.

But this stuff beats the hell out of a cardboard deer head from Urban Outfitter.

Here's a blurb out these guys, "The artist duo Idiots , made up by Afke Golsteijn and Floris Bakker, is characterized by the use of animal material that is carefully patched up and put into significant positions, combined with rich materials such as embroidery, pearls and gold. A contemporary touch is given to the classical memento mori concept, questioning the way the world nowadays seems to be determined by nothing else than just marketing. In a constantly twisting play between fantasy and reality Idiots emphasizes the borderline between life and death."
